japanesefrench

  1. As a birthplace of Karate, we plan to establish "The Okinawa Traditional Karate Kobudo International Studying Center" for both international and domestic karate practitioners aspiring to learn the traditional Okinawan Karate and Kobudo, providing opportunity and facility to undergo training.

  2. This facility will accommodate the worldwide need of karate practitioners of concerted training opportunity for traditional karate including Syuri-te / Shorin-Ryu, Naha-te / Goju-Ryu, and Uechi-Ryu with Kobudo.

  3. Through the activities of this center, we will seek to restore the traditional arts of Okinawan Karate to its original greatness and contribute to its further expansion and development as one of the Okinawan cultural heritages.

  4. By hosting overseas karate practitioners and asking them forge closer ties with local community, we will strive to contribute to the promotion of international understanding; international experience for local youth, and their healthy growth.

  5. We will go a long way, not toward simply furnishing foreign visitors with karate training, but creating local employment opportunities and galvanizing local industries, through facilitating travel, accommodation, dining, tourism, manufacture and sale of karate-related items, and diffusion of information concerning traditional Okinawan Karate.

location

This facility is where “The Wind of Ryukyu”, an NHK TV drama series was shot in 1993. The series was filmed in a replica of Kume town, Naha, under the reign of Ryukyu. The village also reminds us of the Chinese culture in Fuzhou, Fujian Province where founders of various schools learn the esoteric arts of Kung Fu. Once you set your foot inside, you’ll find it a sight worthy of the world capital of karate, with a number of Karate disciples undergoing training hard. With a beautiful view of the East China Sea, it has the ambiance of a world-class beach resort and trainers from both mainland Japan and abroad will find it a fascinating place incomparable to anywhere else.
